Provisioning Devices
- Everyone should already have a free developer account by this point so you can browse documentation and watch WWDC videos.
- We’ll send you an invite shortly for the Apple University Program. If you already have a paid developer account or a university program with the school, you do not need this.
- Apple is providing loaner iPod touches and iPads for you to test your app during Office Hours.
Teams
- Minimum of two people, maximum of three people.
- Highly recommended that you have three people.
- Focus on complementary skill sets and help each other learn what you don’t know.
- If you are still looking for a team, e-mail challenge@apple.com ASAP.
Submit your final project to ChallengePost
- Don’t wait until the last minute!
- All team members must be registered
- Include icons and screenshots of your app
- Zip up your .xcodeproj and submit that (only we can see it)
- We will compile it and have it available on an iPad for the final presentation
- That website is http://sloiac.challengepost.com
Secret API
- Your app must include one of our Physics-based APIs such as SpriteKit or UIKit Dynamics.
- This doesn’t mean you need to do a game. Be creative with it!
- You can be subtle with how you use it, but try to enhance the user experience such as how the lock screen is "springy"
- Maybe when dragging, your view elements respond to gravity or you have a subtle animation in the background that explains what is happening
- Have fun with it.
- Check out the docs at http://developer.apple.com
- Excellent tutorial on SpriteKit, look at the WWDC video for UIKit Dynamics
That's it! Happy coding! If you have questions, come by the Mac Lab in the CSL today and tomorrow from 2pm to Midnight.
